Why BMGRB Exists

Rationale and mission statement for bmgrb.com – Find your Inner Strength

The World We Do This In

Never before have so many people lived with mental health challenges. According to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2025), more than one billion people worldwide live with a mental health condition – one in seven. Anxiety and depression together account for more than two-thirds of all cases, and nearly half of all mental health problems begin before the age of eighteen. The economic cost of depression and anxiety alone is estimated at one trillion dollars per year.

Behind these figures lies something rarely named: most people who struggle never seek help. Not because help is unavailable, but because their problem remains unspoken – out of shame, fear, or the feeling of being the only one. A relationship without intimacy, estrangement from a child, the loss of faith or identity: these are universal struggles for which people rarely walk into a waiting room.

At the same time, the digital world adds to the pressure: social comparison, performance pressure and information overload make silent suffering even more silent. That is precisely where the space – and the responsibility – lies for a place where these subjects can finally be spoken about.

Our Mission

BMGRB makes unspoken problems speakable. We believe no one is the first to carry their burden: throughout the centuries, philosophers, poets, scientists and thinkers have wrestled with the very same questions – and found words for them that still resonate today.

That is why every page on bmgrb.com brings together four historical voices around one recognizable struggle. No quick fixes or five-step plans, but real perspectives from people who themselves lived through loneliness, loss, betrayal, illness and self-doubt. This is how we help visitors find their inner strength: anonymously, accessibly, in five languages and open to everyone.

Our Identity

Our name is our compass. BMGRB stands for Balance, Mindfulness, Growth, Respect and Belief – the five pillars of the journey we offer our visitors.

Our symbol is the lotus. Rooted in the mud, blossoming in the light, the lotus stands in almost every culture for purity, renewal and growth through adversity. As Buddha put it: born in the water, grown in the water, and yet risen above it unstained. That is exactly what we want our visitors to take with them – difficulties are not an endpoint, but the soil from which strength grows.

Our tone is warm, honest and free of judgment. We address people as equals, not as patients. And we are clear about our boundary: we do not replace professional care – we lower the threshold towards it.

Our Values

  • Balance – the equilibrium between carrying and letting go. We help people find calm in a world that constantly pulls at them.
  • Mindfulness – attention to what is really going on. We name what remains unspoken, carefully and without sensationalism.
  • Growth – growth through adversity. Every struggle carries the seed of development, just as the lotus blooms from the mud.
  • Respect – respect for every story. No judgment, no shame, no barriers. Every visitor is welcome exactly as they are.
  • Belief – trust in human resilience. Those who lived before us found a way through – we pass that trust on.

Why This Works

Timeless wisdom is not nostalgia – it is proven support. Insights from philosophy, from Stoic acceptance to Buddhist attention, form the foundation of modern, effective approaches in psychology. By connecting historical voices with present-day struggles, we offer recognition across the centuries: the most powerful remedy against the feeling of being the only one.

In this way, BMGRB serves a need that is growing worldwide, in a way no one else does: not as a therapist, but as a first, safe step. A place where you discover that you are not alone – and never have been.
